Preamble
Jawaharlal Institute
of Technology, Borawan has been established by Jawaharlal Nehru charitable
Educational Trust in the year 1997 under the dynamic leadership and able guidance
of its trustee Shri Subhash Yadav, Ex. Dy.Chief Minister, Government of
M.P. This being the first rural fully residential. college in M.P. The
Institute has been recognized and approved for starting courses.

With an intake
of 220 students in the 1st year from 1997-98 session by AICTE,New Delhi
and Govt. of M.P. It is affiliated to R.G.P.V.V.The Institute has
been established with the main object of providing high quality technical
education in the pollution free natural environment away from various complxities
of big metropolitan cities.The Institute has been develed with all modern
facilities viz. Building,Laboratories, work-shops, Audio-Visual teaching aids
and related infrastructure like Library ,sports facility,Computer center and
other recreation facilities.
Well qualified and highly experienced faculty is an added asset.The college
has various facilities both for Boys and Girls.Industry-Institute interaction
cell is being created for assisting the students in vocational and in plant
training and future placement services.The Institute has a high academic standard
and efforts are being made for overall personality development of the students
through close teacher interaction via tutorial group classes.
Location
JIT has
been shifted to its new location at Borawan. JIT is well connected through
two rail heads Khandwa and Indore.Khargone is situated at a distance of 85
km. from Khandwa and 110 Km from Indore.Public and state transport buses ply
to Khargone almost at a frequency of every half an hour.The Industrial development
in the district is remarkable. Presently it has 674 small scale units, 8 medium
scale unites and 2 large scale units.The permanent location of JIT at Borawan
is almost adjacent(30 Km) to Khargone on state highway.
Land
The educational
complex at Borawan covers 37.0 acres of land
for it's Building,Laboratories,
work-shops, Audio-Visual teaching aids and related infrastructure like Library
,sports facility,Computer center and other recreation facilities.
Computer Center
Technology is advancing at an incredible pace and in order
to keep pace with this change, the computer center provides Hi-Tech Labs for
learning the latest in IT and effectively managing change in this fiercely
competitive envioronment.The institute has one of the most sophisticated computer
center equipped with the latest versions of hardware and software including
P-IV configured setup with multiple terminal units connected through LAN
and Internet as well for round the clock connectivity.
Building

JIT's own campus is developed with a total project cost of Rs. 20.0 Crore at village Borawan.
Obviously the
new campus would be free from pollution and it would be surrounded by lush
green trees and beautiful landscapes.The Institute is housed in its own sprawling
campus of about 37 acrs in the midst of serene a natural surrounding of Vanchoo
hillocks, well-connected from Indore railway station by deluxe buses.The Building
complex constructed at a cost of about 7.5 crores includes acadamic complex,
administrative wing state-of-the-art computer center, boys and girls hostels
about 800 boys and 200 girls, well stocked library cafeteria of international
standards recreation club, health center etc.In the new campus, apart from
main building, separate girls and boys hostels are constructed.Similarly,
Principal's residence and quaters for faculty members are also provided in
the campus.
